EXAM BLUES

I heard, a very serious student in my class say "God! Law no be beans o". Now for me who strive to read to the best of my ability, how will that seem?. Of recent, I've been feeling down, feeling as if I'm not reading and generally have no motivation to read. Therefore I'm sending a shout out to those who are struggling to read during this exam period. May we remember all the cases and principles and exceptions. Greatest uniben.

Ps: who's going out to vote on monday? Success to all the contestants.

THE 'M' WORD IN MOTHER

THE 'M' WORD IN MOTHER

I just got off the phone with my mother. During the call, I hailed her 'mother' in all the languages I know. This then got me thinking.
The word 'm', is practically in all language when pronouncing mother. For example...
English- mother
French- mere
Greek- mitera
Igbo- nne, nma
German- mutter
Dutch- moeder
Russian- mama
Swahili- mama
Zulu- umama
Chinese(traditional) - muqin
Korean- eomeoni, oma
Latin- maten
Urhobo- onime, ome

      Not to say that the word 'm' is in all pronunciation of mother in every language. There are some exceptions. For example;
Esperanto - patrino
Yoruba- iya
Hausa- uwar
Filipino- ina
Japanese - haha, etc.

I've been told that I have interests in mundane stuff. However, I believe that it's the mundane things in life that gives meaning to living. So please indulge me.

THE VOICES; RYAN RENOLDS

I just watched the movie 'the voices' by Ryan Reynolds. It's the definition of creepy but tell a story that makes you think about the brain. I asked around and I discovered that the guy, Jerry, was suffering from schizophrenia. The movie, it's said is a great portrayal of those suffering from the disease. It has made me think, which is one thing I look for when watching a movie. They've also brought to my knowledge that the brain is the most complex organ in the body.

Plagiarism is a terrible civil offense. Wrongfully appropriating someone's work in any manner and presenting them as yours is considered an injury to them mentally. The original author is entitled to a compensation and proper recognition of his work as his. My question then is; students given projects and assignments in schools (tertiary, secondary, university), lots of their works are 'copy and paste' of articles found online. Won't that be considered as plagiarism too? It's quite funny however, that the respective lectures, teachers and tutors award marks to the work of the students. Just my thoughts..
